Step 1:-Prepare 'NAAN dough '.
I - Mix 1 teaspoon of sugar in 1/2 cup of Luke warm water and add 1/2 teaspoon of yeast , 1/2 table spoon of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt , keep aside to' rise' .
II - Combine 1 1/2 cups of atta /wheat flour and 1 1/2 cup of maida ( whole purpose flour)
1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder , 1 teaspoon of baking soda ,
a teaspoon of salt ,
egg ( one beaten ) ,
1/2 a cup of whole milk ,
3-5 teaspoons of olive oil ,
and step I ' raised ' yeast.
III :- Knead well ( Add more water if needed ) ,until you get a soft, springy dough.
IV- Cover the ''dough'' with a warm damp cloth. And keep in warm place ( preferably 78 degree Fahrenheit) for 1 1/2 hour ( until the dough doubles its size as in the picture below) .
V- Knead again and ''keep it '' for another 1/2 more hour.
Step 2 :- Preheat the Oven to 500 degree Fahrenheit .
Step 3:- Spread the dough( medium sized ball from the dough) on a pre greased cookie sheet in triangular/oval shape.
Step 4:- Bake for 3-5 minutes in lowermost rack, until it browned and puffed up. Then flip 'the naan' and bake for another 1 minute
Step 5:- Remove the naan from the oven and" brush'' with a bit of butter as in the picture .
Step 6 :- Naan ( Indian Oven -Baked Flat bread) is ready .......: -) :-) Enjoy with curry :).... - JA- Mathew-
