Step 1:- Marinate 3 lb ( 1 1/2 kg) of beef pieces with 1 1/2 teaspoon of Turmeric powder , 2 teaspoon of Kashmiri chilli powder, 1 teaspoon of pepper powder , 2 1/2 teaspoon of coriander powder and 2 teaspoon of garam masala powder and salt for 8-9 hours.
Step 2 :- Microwave the Marinated Beef with 1/2 cup of water for 15 minutes . And keep aside.
Step 3:- Heat a pan , add 1 - 1 1/2 cup of grated coconut .Saute for few minutes
Step 4:- Add 2-3 cinnamon sticks , 2 cardamom . 5-6 black pepper and 2 teaspoon of fennel seeds , 1/2 of a Star anise , 3-5 cloves, 3 table spoon of chopped ginger pieces and 5-6 chopped garlic cloves.
Step 5:- Continuously saute until the grated coconut becomes brown in color.
Step 6:- Add a chopped tomato , mix well .Remove from flame and allow to cool
Step 7:- Grind into a smooth paste, and keep aside.
Step 8:- ''Chop''10-15 pearl onion and 1/2 - 3/4 cup of thenga kothu and keep aside
Step 9:- Heat 2 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan . Splutter 2 teaspoon of mustard seeds, 2-4 dried red chillies and add coconut pieces ( thenga kothu .Saute until the coconut pieces becomes brown in color..
Step 10 :- ''At this point'' add '' the chopped pearl onion ( Step 8) , Saute for few minutes .
Step 11 :- Add 1/2 of a medium onion ( sliced ),Saute until the onion becomes transparent .
Step 12:- ''At this stage'' bring down the flame and add step 7 paste and mix well .
Step 13:- Add step 3 ''microwaved BEEF'' .
Step 14:- Combine well.
Step 15:- Add 1/2 cup of chopped cilantro and mix well .
Step 16:- Cook for 30-35 minutes on low- medium flame with 1 - 1 1/2 cup of water . For spicy curry add 1/2 teaspoon of pepper powder and 1/2 teaspoon of kasmiri chiili powder ''at this stage
Step 17:- Varutharacha BEEF Curry ready . Enjoy with Chapattis, tortillas , fulkas , steamed rice ...........:) :)
