Step 1 :- Heat a pan , add oil ( 2 teaspoons ) , splutter mustard seeds ( 1 teaspoon) , and add cumin seeds ( 1/2 teaspoon ) , fennel seeds ( 1/4 teaspoon ) peppercorns ( 5-6nos ) cloves ( 2-3 nos ), cardamon seeds ( seeds of 2-3 green cardamom ) .
Step 2 :- Now add onion ( 3/4 of a big one ) , ginger root ( chopped 1 teaspoon ) , garlic cloves ( chopped 1 teaspoon ) ,
green chillies ( 2-3 ) , and saute , until the onion is transparent .
Now add tomato ( chopped ( 1/2 cup )
Add water ( 1 cup ) and allow to boil .
now add Calamari ( squid ) ( 1 lb ) , combine well and cook
for 20 -25 minutes on medium flame
Step 4:- Calamari ( Squid ) masala is ready .......: -) :-) Enjoy as a side dish for Steamed rice /Chapattis/Tortillas /Fulkas /Vellayappam/ Kallappam/ Palappam..... ... Enjoy ...-JA- Mathew- :)
