Okra / Bendakaya Fry RECIPE #3



Okra Fry

Step 1:-Chop okra  ( ladies finger/ Bendakkai)  (20-25 nos)  in to small pieces and keep aside.

Step 2:-   Heat 2 table spoon of   vegetable oil in a pan , splutter 1 -2 teaspoon of mustard seeds, add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds,2-4 chopped garlic cloves and 6-12 curry leaves saute for few seconds until the cumin seeds becomes  brown in color. Now add a chopped Savala/Onion and saute until it turns brown in color. Now add the chopped okra ( step 1)  and  a teaspoon of turmeric  powder , a  pinch of chilli powder and salt , cook( in low-medium heat) for 20 -25 minutes , until the okra turns soft . Stir frequently and allow to get roasted.
